What is a Bridge?

A bridge is most often used to replace a missing tooth. A bridge consists of two crowns with a replacement tooth fused between them. The crowns of the new bridge are placed on the two prepared teeth adjacent to the missing tooth, bridging the space of the missing tooth. A bridge is permanently cemented in the mouth and is not removable.
